I genuinely think the ability to find representation that your own culture cannot provide from elsewhere is a very beautiful thing. And I wouldn't argue that art it above critique.
But it is also very uncomfortable to be writing "call out" and "blah is problematic" posts wholly from your own cultural perspective and the tropes and trappings of your own culture.
In some ways the power of that work comes from being in conversation with a largely different tradition, that it's using subtly (or even very) different cultural shorthands & a different lexicon of tropes. Trying to shackle it to your own cultural point of view just flattens it.
