Men will truly have a woman tell them her name is Jenny and that she can be reached at 867-5309 and go, “Damn, that number is disconnected, Jenny must have misspoke, better go track her down,” and the world will CALL THEM ROMANTIC https://twitter.com/naima/status/1297552674943008772
Maybe ten or twelve years ago there was a dude who saw a girl on the train and drew a picture of her and made a whole website about wanting to meet her and he got a bunch of press for it and then when he met her she, like, had a boyfriend I think? IDK. They didn’t end up together
I tried googling the story but I don’t remember enough details of it to actually find it, if anyone knows what I’m talking about and remembers the website please chime in!
The point is men ejaculate their fantasies about women they have never even spoken to all over the internet and get rewarded for it, and it makes me so tired.
Thank you to @HitOrMissJudy for finding the story I was referencing! https://twitter.com/hitormissjudy/status/1297603101134921731
The website the dude made STILL EXISTS http://nygirlofmydreams.com
Oh noooooo the guy who did this is the creator of Dots and Two Dots
Anyway it seems like I misremembered the ending of the NY Girl of My Dreams saga because it ends with “what happens next is private!” But there was definitely another thing like this where the woman had a boyfriend. I just... I’m tired.
Why are men
If the situation is “so intense” because a dude violated your privacy by publicizing a campaign to track you down and pressure you into dating him then that’s not romantic
Also to be clear I don’t blame the woman for dating the dude, I blame the culture for brainwashing women into thinking this shit is romantic and not manipulative
