Note to armchair epi’s making every cluster some how indicative of aerosol transmission - not wearing a mask, sitting at a table by the stairs, AND being in an enclosed space all contribute to transmission. These are what define super spreader events.
Calling a cluster a “hotspot” is sensationalist and dangerous. Making claims that it is likely related to recirculating HVAC units and then burying the pieces about lack of masks, exposure times, and seating, is just bad scicomm and underscores a lack actual ID epi knowledge.
ALL of these factors contribute to transmission. That’s why investing in *all* of them is important.
