The posters and slogans at the protests in Belarus have come a long way in the past two weeks. Here’s a thread with some of the best from today’s huge rally

1. Sasha (Lukashenko) - we’re not your slaves
2) Sasha, I hate you for free (in response to Lukashenko saying the protesters are paid)
3) Let’s drink to love - the bartenders of Belarus
4) “I will marry a protester”
5) an ultra-noir joke about political apathy

- do you know which concentration camp they’re taking us to?

- oh, no actually, I’m not really interested in politics.
6) list of countries where the ruler has been in power for more than 25 years. “It’s time to leave this list!”
7) someone has gone to the trouble of reproducing last week’s great @guardianweekly cover
8) Some people have reproduced photographs of those injured in police violence
9) one about the divide over the two flags: “Only Lukashenko wants to divide us”
10) You are our problem / misfortune
11) Working class - go on strike!
12) and there’s always one:

“I’m protesting, but I couldn’t think of a slogan”
13) Khabarovsk (Russian city currently also protesting), we are with you!
Many signs are just incredibly good natured. eg this one: “With faith, hope and love”
“Are you hungry? I’ve got apples, bananas and nuts”
Not even going to start with this one
And that’s that. Another day full of the unexpected in Minsk... / end
