Top reporter @jasondeparle has a must-read today that shines a light on child poverty and the opportunity at-hand to help address it in the next fiscal response bill as the House-passed Heroes Act does:

Here is our take on why the 27 million children currently excluded from the full child tax credit should be included in the next fiscal package as they are in the House-passed Heroes Act: http://bit.ly/2FQhTjv ">https://bit.ly/2FQhTjv&q...
Here my colleague Kris Cox explains how a fully available Child Tax Credit would disproportionately benefit women of color and their children: http://bit.ly/3lbxXg0 ">https://bit.ly/3lbxXg0&q...
In this recent paper, we highlight that 45 percent of children from rural areas would benefit from a fully available Child Tax Credit of $2,000 per child, compared to a still sizable 38 percent in metro areas: http://bit.ly/2QkXcy9 ">https://bit.ly/2QkXcy9&q...
While as @jasondeparle notes “Mr. Biden’s view remains a mystery”, beyond passing the House, a Brown-Bennet-Durbin-Wyden bill in the Senate has a fully available CTC as its centerpiece & is cosponsored by all Senate Ds but one, including Senate Harris http://bit.ly/3gjF6Hr ">https://bit.ly/3gjF6Hr&q...
Moreover, there is momentum among conservative intellectuals too, as @Jasondeparle notes. Plus and importantly, building on efforts of Senators Rubio and Lee, late last year Senator Romney called for part of the CTC to be fully refundable: http://bit.ly/31noOsw ">https://bit.ly/31noOsw&q...
Consider a single Mom, with two young children, who works part-time as a cleaner at an assisted living home, earning $9,000 a year & how much a $3,025 increase in the CTC would mean for this family. This is what the Heroes Act would do. It belongs in the next bill.
