i think a big part of gods menu is this idea of tunnel vision. like you’re focusing on the big picture so you’re missing the small details or vice versa. hyunjin holds his hand up in a tube against his eye - a tunnel he’s looking through so he can’t see what’s outside
only thing is he’s not the one with tunnel vision, we are. the sign at the end of the mv says back door.
in bin and jisung’s part there’s a light up sign in the background of the same design as the back door one that says ‘in life’. they’re both at the back where we can’t see them because we’re too busy focusing on the bajillion other things going on (particularly in bin’s part)
we also see this sign one other time, but it’s harder to spot because it’s not lit up. give u 3 guesses as to where it is
the sign said surprise bitch i’m everywhere. even in the scene that emphasises the idea tunnel vision, ironically when you didn’t see it because you were too busy looking at hyunjin’s literal tunnel. (and his beautiful face)
so if we connect the signs? “back door in life”. couldn’t tell you what it means just yet, but it most likely has to do with them finding their own way through life, a cheat way if you will but we don’t like that word so we’re not gonna say that. it could be symbolic
of them figuring out how to travel between universes, through realms and them having control over their fate.
the sign also only ever appears in the kitchen. i think each setting in the mv - kitchen, race track, construction site etc - means something different.

whatever the kitchen means probably gives us the answer to whatever the signs mean.
there’s also another part of the mv that i noticed when it first came out but never knew what it meant.

watch this scene. u see the boys dance in a spotlight.
now watch it again, focusing on the cake in the bottom left corner.

first it’s normal. in the second frame it has more red as a topping. in the third one it’s covered. did you also notice the lamps? the tables changing? the shot is further away in the second one. the spotlight is bigger. everything changes when you look at the bigger picture,
and when you look back, everything might not be as it seems.
it’s all meant to distract you - to take your eyes off the main idea. the car minho drives? suddenly it has a number plate - ‘stray kids’. it’s like they’re taking over.

ALSO at the start they’re all frozen within a circle of people. a tunnel, if u will. plus jeongin’s head moves this child sus af
don’t follow me i’m boring every other day i promise
