Here it is. Trump's reelection strategy🙄

🔹He's down 9 points in the polls.
🔹He tried to sabotage mail-in voting during a pandemic by taking away the mail.
🔹That didn't work. There are other ways to get and return ballots.

We roll our eyes, and vote.
Right.

People have wondered what he would do when he understands he will lose. He can't pull off a military coup becuase the military isn't behind him. He can't take over polling places because he doesn't have the police power.

My advice. . . . https://twitter.com/RickMar73657568/status/1297555789343789062
. . . . STOP telling people that our elections are vulnerable and cheating is easy.

That's Trump's game⤵️

Cheating is possible, but not easy, and cannot overcome a 6+ point loss across multiple states without detection.

Don't undermine confidence in our elections right now.
A goal of active measures is to undermine confidence in democratic processes like elections.

What dictators and would-be dictators (like Putin and Trump do is try to pull a Strongman Con.

I should do a book report on this book ⤵️
Thomas Rid, an expert in Russian disinformation tactics, said that the extent of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election was “designed to be overestimated.”

Putin wants to be overestimated. That way he's feared and has more power.

Trump also wants to be overestimated.
It's important not to underestimate Trump and Putin. They are dangerous.

It's also important not to overestimate them.

Trump is a conman. Part of his con is that he can pull off stealing an American election while he's down 9 points in the polls.

We're stronger than he is.
In GA, after the disasterous election, a court ordered GA to purchase new machines that have a paper trail.

The new machines are court-approved. Cheating is possible, but if someone tries it in large numbers, it will be detected early. https://twitter.com/VinkemesMom/status/1297566187493167110
Voter suppression is easy in comparison.

It's much easier to scare voters into staying home, or drop them from the rolls and make it hard for them to vote, or jam the polling places in Democratic areas, or persuade them that both candidates are bad.

This⤵️and⤴️are the worries.
There's a reason @staceyabrams and @HillaryClinton, both of whom lost elections because of cheating, warn against voter suppression. Neither spread fear that voting itself isn't secure.

(Appellate lawyers like to cite experts and authorities).

I rest my case 👩‍⚖️
This is how it looks to me.

The best message (I think from @MuellerSheWrote) is to vote in numbers too big to manipulate. https://twitter.com/SEJeff/status/1297569415110758400
