i was gonna say that on my rant only but now i genuinely don't care anymore, saying "he's wearing the same outfit but in different colours" is just rude. Yes, some of them are actually the same design but some clearly aren't and saying they're all the same is disrespectful- https://twitter.com/sunflowerxwoman/status/1297317339034202114
towards the different people who designed each suit. You can't just say "they're the same" because they're both glittery or because they're both in floral patterns. That's not how fashion works so PLEASE don't do this.
I'm gonna go through this thread one by one now idc this shit hurt my fashion heart.
disclaimer, this thread is not made to attack anyone, i just wanna show that even though some designs look similar they are NOT the same. Yes, some of the ones in this thread are the same but-
not all of them and that's what I'm trying to show here. leTS GO
on first glance, yes they do look the same. In the first three pictures the pants are all the same design but in different colours, that's true. But the fourth does NOT fit in with these because the pants are clearly different (they don't have the buttons which is very obvious).
Now, the shirts. They are NOT the same and they are NOT just a dIffErEnT cOloUr. you can clearly see these are different fabrics which changes a lot. Fabric changes the look of a design, the way it feels when worn, how warm the piece of clothing is, how easy or comfortable it is-
to move in etc. So suggesting they're the same but in a different colour is bullshit when you clearly see the first one isn't even see through and therefore a different fabric.
The Fine Line shirt is a custom pink version of a green shirt from gucci's pre-fall collection of 2019, designed by Alessandro Michele. If you look closely you can see the floral print that the other three blouses don't have.
now onto the next two. They look very similar, that is true, they're both gucci but once again they are NOT THE SAME. The sleeves of the shirts are different (the ones from the black shirt are wider) so once again - not the same even if it might seem like it.
then the outfit from the bbc two interview. The pants are the ones he wore in the lights up video when he was sitting on the back of the motorcycle. The shirt is probably the same design as the blue one in the lights up MV.
in conclusion you can clearly see these four outfits are NOT the same outfit but in a different colour. mOVING ON-
let's continue here. these two suits are actually completely different ones. Just they're both gucci and both have a floral pattern they're NOT make them the same thing.
the suit he wore in manchester was part of gucci cruise 2018 while the suit he wore in san francisco and singapore was a custom suit in SS18 floral print which was featured in the gucci spring 2018 collection.
these two suits do indeed look very similar since they're both quite simple BUT they are not the exact same ones. I will not lie, i had to look very closely to see differences but they are there.
okay so both these suits are custom made btw, i thought i should mention that. what I noticed is that the jacket pockets and the lapels of the two suits are different. Also, the Sydney jacket seems to be a bit longer than the hershey jacket but I'm not sure about that.
so once again they are similar but not the same.
i don't even know where to start. these are four entirely different suits. Different patterns, different colours, different designs, basically different EVERYTHING. once again, just because they have a floral pattern does not mean THEY ARE THE SAME.
the new york suit is a single-breasted, straight leg custom gucci suit. It's a shiny red fabric with a black floral overlay.
the london suit is a single-breasted suit made from blue/pink/silver jacquard. The floral also features animals such as snakes and beetles.
the late late show suit is a custom gucci suit made from multicoloured jacquard with an asian floral design also featuring donald duck.
the LA suit is a custom double-breasted peak lapel gucci suit with gold/pink/blue floral pattern.
once again, two entirely different suits with different patterns.
the suit from london consists of two seperate parts of the gucci fall 2017 collection. It's a gold lamé suit featuring a single-breasted jacket and trousers ending in flares.
the chicago suit is a custom glittery green gucci suit with pink floral pattern. it's single-breasted with peak lapels and straight leg trousers.
the next ones are these three, all designed by Harris Reed. Yes, they do look similar but that's because they're made by the same designer (duh). But they are NOT THE SAME. The first one is clearly made from different fabric than the other two. That's the first thing you notice.
the são paulo and manila blouses are also worn with a vest which doesn't apply to the third one so that's already a difference. The são paulo blouse is made of silver silk, the manila blouse from lilac silk crêpe-de-chine and the Boston blouse from black silk crêpe-de-chine.
wELL so the first suit is calvin klein, the second suit is gucci. Pretty sure that says it all.
now these four... so basically the first two are the same jacket but in different colours, yes. but the other two? entirely different suits.
the london and la jackets are made of velvet with crystal and bead embroidery, paired with black high-waisted pants with a golden side stripe.
the nashville suit is a custom gucci electric blue suit, embroidered with blue and pink crystals, worn with flared trousers.
the madrid suit is a palomo spain suit (so it has nothing to do with the other three). It consists of a pinstripe jacket and pinstripe with white site stripe pants.
okay so i guess that's it lmao, the ones that I didn't mention in the thread were either really the same designs or I couldn't find anything about it. so basically what I'm trying to say with this thread is that people shouldn't say "it's the same suit" without doing proper-
research first. It's quite easy to find out what suit Harry is wearing and what brand it is. Just look up Harry Styles Fadhion Archive on tumblr, they have detailed descriptions for everything Harry is wearing (which really helped me with this thread ngl).
also i spent over 4 hours on this. idk why i did it. but i did. so yeah if you ever want to do a thread about celebrities wearing the same suits but in different colours please do research first. I'm too lazy to reread this thread for mistakes so i apologise. bye
