I actually had a Republican friend ask me Friday“how are things worse for you” since Trump was elected

I answered:

Racism more overt
People unnecessarily dying from COVID
Our troops aren’t safe
Our allies laugh at us
The wealth gap is worse

The country is more divided than at any point in my lifetime
Storm troopers attack peaceful protesters
The rule of law is dead for Trump and his friends
The R Senate won’t take up a COVID relief bill

Unemployment above 10% and unlikely to improve this year
Restaurants and bars are closed
My kids can’t go to school
We can’t travel overseas
I’m afraid of dying

But other than that, things are peachy
