The three large communities in Karnataka that have yielded to Sanghism are: Lingayats of North KA, Bunts of Tulunadu and Kodavas of Madikeri.
Revival of Basavanna& #39;s anti-brahmanical philosophy, of Bunt pride, and Kodava pride will serve as natural antidotes to Sanghi Brahminism.

By & #39;pride& #39; I mean self-esteem of a community wrt its socio-religious customs/rituals, NOT supremacism or casteism.
If pride in ethnic identity (eg., Tibetan) or tribe (eg. Santhals) is considered acceptable, I don& #39;t get why pride of a community like Bunt becomes illegitimate.

"Caste" is a term that binds an independent kinship group into hierarchical relationship with other groups, making it subject to "casteism" governed by the purity-pollution axis of Hinduism ala Brahmanism. What needs elimination is the imposed hierarchy, not the kinship identity.
