The stages of repentance are:

1) Fully own the harm caused (publicly in this case)

2) Start to change—therapy, education etc

3) Amends, in whatever way might be possible

4) apology if it wouldn’t harm your victim

5) make better choices

This? Is none of that. https://twitter.com/aaron4ks37/status/1297413515863625728
Amends could be financial reparations to the victim. Could be working to pass legislation viz revenge porn. Could be about finding ways to tell your story of causing harm to kids and educating on why this is bad. Or other things. More on all this:

Let me once again note that owning the harm and the apology are different things. Owning the harm is ideally public, especially in a case like this where the harm is known publicly. But who he must apologize to is the victim. Not us. And who has no obligation to forgive+
But who might choose to if the repentance work is sincere (but again: no obligation) is the victim, not the public. That’s for her alone. The public can witness statements of owning harm & maybe amends work, can see through words and actions if repentance is sincere. This? Nope.
