The BEST weird, uncanny coincidence THREAD you will read today:
I recently posted a photo of the mountains near me. @CivicCentrePL1 jokily responded by sending me a picture of Hilda Ogden's picture wall from Coronation Street in 1976. 1/6

I started looking for the location of Hilda's 'muriel'. Some said it was the Alps, others the Rockies. I looked through the German, French, Swiss & Italian Alps for a match. An impossible quest: The Alps and Rockies cover thousands of square miles across a dozen countries. 2/6

Completely unconnected (but spookily), a few hours later I was looking through my 50k photo archive of period images I use for @Scarfolk and, by sheer chance, I spotted the same Alpine scene on the wall of a 1970s Tennessee motel room! 3/6

4.The next morning @neil3965 said he thought he'd found a match: Burgseeli, Switzerland, which confirmed @jeffprad1's earlier tweet that it might be near Interlaken. 4/6

By chance I am a short drive from Interlaken & Burgseeli, so we jumped in the car to see if we could find the spot. We did. And here it is. It's not a tourist spot or anything. Just a place where someone once stood to take a photo which ended up in a commercial photo library. 5/6

Finally, almost unbelievably, it turns out that the photo I first posted (at the top of the thread, to which @CivicCentrePL1 posted the Ogden wall) is of the same mountains as the mountains on Hilda Ogden's/the motel's walls.
