CARNIVORE AURELIUS NUTRITIONAL VIEWS (in the most parsimonious way possible)

1. If you want to lose weight, make $1 million dollars and become famous, all you need to do is try the carnivore diet (Just kidding...sort of...)
2. If your mental & physical health is great, don’t change anything.

3. A healthy diet is one that provides you all essential nutrients in their optimum quantity (nutrients, EFAs, proteins, energy) while minimizing adverse consequences
4. Protein is probably the most important macro nutrient to target first.

It's very satiating, helps build muscle and has a TEF. After protein needs are met, the rest of energy should be fat or carb…not both together. Which you choose should be based on considerations below.
5. Animal foods are the *healthiest*. You can obtain all essential nutrients and they have protein in its most bioavailable form

Animal products, organ meats & salmon roe are also the ONLY // best source of many nutrients, thus are an ESSENTIAL part of a healthy diet.
7. Vegetables OTOH are not an essential dietary component & can negatively impact some people — especially those with gut issues & autoimmune issues.

Many are also loaded with pesticides that damage health. With that being said, most people can eat them.
8. Gut issues can precipitate many diseases. If you have gut issues, you should change your diet.

Complex carbs, refined carbs, fiber & other plants could be causing or exacerbating gut issues. Most people can tolerate meat, fat & protein very well.
9. Carbs on their own do not cause disease in healthy people, but high carb foods can aggravate issues in people that already have metabolic syndrome & gut issues

10. Men & women should check and optimize hormonal levels.
11. Disease is multifactorial. Some of the main causes are: excessive caloric consumption, food & environmental toxins, gut issues & nutrient deficiencies.

12. Losing weight accounts for the benefits of most diets. This is why both vegan & carnivore diets can improve health.
13. You gain weight because you eat more calories than you burn. The best diet for weight loss is the one that is most satiating and helps you get to a caloric deficient state while still consuming adequate nutrients.
14. You may want to worry about LDL rising too high. But LDL alone is not the most predictive biomarker of heart disease.
15. Ketosis may have beneficial effects on longevity, performance & for some classes of disorders (like certain cancers & type 1 diabetes) but you do not need to be in ketosis at all times to be healthy.
16. The best diet for you is the one that helps you build muscle, get adequate nutrients, feel best & enjoy life WITHOUT QUITTING. For me, that is carnivore / carnivore-ish.
