I want to address this sexist attack on Senator Harris is see coming from all sides especially the right wing. The notion of her sleeping her way to the top is purely an attack on her being a nearly lifelong bachelorette. If she were married at 22, would this even be said?

This shows the hostility our society has towards single, childless, educated, accomplished women. Oftentimes this disdain comes from other women who have internalized misogyny. Men often want to be a necessity in the lives of women & not a choice. In essence, women shouldn't be

allowed to make family planning choices nor should they even be allowed to choose marriage late in life. Insecure men like Rush Limbaugh & his minions fear being obsolete. They fear a generation of women like Senator Harris & so many like her who don't center their value as a

women in patriarchal traditions. They hate women who enjoy life without the benefits of marriage. They hate women who don't have the lifelong responsibilities of marriage and children. They hate women they can't control in any aspect.

One of the things I admire about Senator Harris is she didn't ride her husband's coat tail into her career or prominence which should make women who are lifelong bachelorettes feel a little better about their own prospects.
