5 years ago I made my first crop art piece! A tribute to Paul F. Tompkins and Spontaneanation. I didn't know what I was doing so I laid it out on the table first to terrifying effect. Semper in praesenti!
Four years ago, I made one of my favorite crop art pieces for the Minnesota State Fair: mashup of Prince with the Hamilton Playbill. No ribbon!
Three years ago my crop art entry celebrated 40 years of local band The Suburbs. I like cows!
I auctioned off custom crop art for a fundraiser at work in 2017, too. My coworker asked for a Christmas theme with a mouse.
Two years ago, my crop art paid homage to 50 years of the best local record store, Electric Fetus. It was the first time I used an odd shape, the exact size of a vinyl album. The record took forever.
I donated another custom crop art piece in 2018. The raffle winner asked for something for her friend Emily and her friends visiting Paris. I was inspired by the Madeline children's book.

Last year was my first blue ribbon in crop art at the Minnesota State Fair! I modified a big mouth Billy bass, turning it into a "croppie". The wood grain plaque took a very, very long time.
This year, 2020, is the year without a fair. There will be no ribbons, but there is virtual crop art. My submission is for the Gen X-ers. Please admire my popcornonavirus side theme.
