Few thoughts about the online vs. f2f value for money.

1. Offering online as contingency to students who have signed up for f2f, is not online education.

For online to generate the expected outcomes, the students should have been committed to study online.

2. Online requires entirely different pedagogical design, resources, and support.

Comparing Covid contingency online education, which is primarily digitized f2f, with online-by-design education, is totally wrong.

3. Value for money of HE is a problematic concept in the first place. However, students should be the ones to evaluate it.

If the design of the learning environment is effective, then student engagement, experience, and attainment are improved. And so does value for money
