I see a lot of growing artists beating themselves over the head searching for that & #39;coveted& #39; style. Stop.
That is the single best piece of advice that I can impart to you.
Style is merely any particular artist& #39;s & #39;shorthand.& #39;

That is the single best piece of advice that I can impart to you.
Style is merely any particular artist& #39;s & #39;shorthand.& #39;
Personal style is a collection of shortcuts and tricks you& #39;ve learned along the way. Style grows organically, so focus on building up your knowledge. Practice fundamentals, and you& #39;ll naturally see yourself grow into a style of your own.
Another bit of advice is: disconnect.
Another bit of advice is: disconnect.
Over-consumption of media is the quickest way to kill inspiration and impede artistic growth. Artists today are over-exposed to so much art that it cripples them. So take some time for yourself. Don& #39;t post everything you make. Simply, learn to sit with your art for a bit.
Take heed and limit who you pull inspiration from to only a few & #39;inspirational& #39; artists at a time. I& #39;d suggest no more than 5, less if possible. But more importantly, focus on improving your understanding of things like line, form, perspective, gesture drawing, lighting & color.
Try to limit what you aim to translate into your own style from other artists. Instead of coveting their & #39;entire& #39; style. Pick one or two things to pull from them, e.g. the way they draw shoes, or shade pant-legs, the way they color clouds etc.
Smaller chunks will not only be more attainable, they& #39;ll allow you time to change gears, a chance to alter what you& #39;ve cherry-picked from your fave artist into something of your own. Something that& #39;s more organic for the way You draw, therefore making it easier for you to draw it
Too often I see gaggles of incredibly talented artists whose works are indistinguishable from one another or who have effectively taken on a style of an old master or successful artist. This isn& #39;t a call out or a put-down. It& #39;s not even necessarily a bad thing, it has its use.
It& #39;s no secret that & #39;certain art styles& #39; and subject matter sell better than others. As an artist you need to be aware of what exactly your aim is for your art. In the same vein, don& #39;t let the aforementioned discourage you from exploring/growing in a way that is fulfilling to you
If you& #39;re still growing as an artist, and truly we all are & always will be, take the time to learn & allow yourself a quiet space to grow, away from prying eyes and the pressures of the online world

There& #39;s far too much nuance in this subject for me to effectively cover here with any amount of tact. I just wanted to send my best wishes to those who are struggling with art.
