In this thread Gwared also helpfully looks at how 'feeble minded' is shared between Crank today and the Nazi usage of Krank to describe disabled people as a category of people they were killing, but for me this tweet is 100% it. https://twitter.com/Gwared/status/1297484977765064704
The whole context of the discussions I had came off the back of the fallout in which the edict was laid down that disabled ppl cannot draw on historical comparisons of fascism pertinent to their present day reality under a eugenicist fash government that is literally killing them
In that atmosphere 'crank' was thrown about to dismiss disabled people as cuckoo at a time when we're literally discussing how being 'krank' was Nazi category/justification for murder? Well. I think you can say that was insensitive at best.
Disabled people have been saying this long enough about 'crank'. And 'm*r*n' as it so happens, which was also Nazi classification. Can we not just listen to disabled people and endeavour to do better rather than resorting to Merriam Webster to tell them they're wrong?
