Most common reasons people claim kuroken is "problematic" to ship and my rebuttal to them, because I'm tired.

A thread 🙄
"Kuroo sees Kenma as a brother, so it's incest."
-They're not related, like at all.
-Het childhood friend pairings with this trope never get scrutinized like mlm ships, so what's up with that?
-You may view someone unrelated to you as family at some point, it's still not incest.
"Kenma is portrayed as feminine, which is heteronormative"
-Gay men can be feminine too, heck my brother is a feminine gay man and likes "manly" men. Is he being heteronormative?
-Not every krkn shipper portrays him like that, so it's unfair to treat all of us as a monolith.
"The height difference makes it seem like Kenma is a child, so pedophilia."
-Height difference in adult couples of all orientations and genders are very common.
-It's weird that you see people on the shorter side as children by default, seems like a personal problem to me.
"Kenma is always the bottom, making it homophobic and heteronormative."
-Preferences in sexual things exist in the gay community. Have you ever talked to LGBT+ circles OUTSIDE the internet before? This is very common.
-Also, again, all krkn shippers have different preferences.
"Kenma is portrayed as innocent and dependent of Kuroo all the time."
-Not all krkn shippers portray Kenma like this and they understand his character is more fleshed out than that.
-I consume a lot of krkn content and I hardly see this trope honestly.
"Let male best friends remain friends, it doesn't always have to be gay."
-Mainstream media usually just feeds us male characters with strong bonds with other male characters...and they're always straight.
-What's wrong with making gay fan content?
"All krkn fans are cishet women and this ship is a fetish to them."
-I wasn't aware there was a study done on this, where's the data? Because most of my krkn friends are not cis, het or even women.
-Assuming the identity of every krkn shipper as so is homophobic and transphobic.
There's way more reasons I've seen, but these usually come to mind and they're wrapped in "woke" and "progressive" language to seem valid when they're very much the contrary. These takes are just thinly veiled bigotry hurled at people minding their own business tbh
If you dislike krkn, that's perfectly fine! Not everyone sees their dynamic as romantic and that's okay. It's just not okay to invent reasons to make it seem problematic though, or attack others for liking it, just to feel like your ship preference is morally superior to krkn.
A lot of the time, the tropes that are used in krkn are tropes I see in other Kenma and Kuroo ships too tbh (usually by the same people that criticize krkn), and those are apparently fine?
Treating fans of a ship as a monolith is also insensitive. We are all different people with different preferences and identities. Saying we ALL portray them the same, that we ALL harass non-krkn shippers, that we're ALL disrespectful is a blatant lie.
I'm not saying that some krkn shippers aren't disrespectful or that they don't harass others, because some do and honestly I don't condone that at all, but they're a small minority. It's just not okay to demonize everyone who's into krkn or any other ship.
You can hate krkn and have it as a notp, but at least be better about presenting your opinions. You can hate something without having a reason to hate it. Honestly obsessing about your hate for something that's not hurting anyone is pretty unhealthy too.
Remember, fandom is supposed to be fun. Stop treating shipping as a form of activism and start treating people with respect, even if they like something you dislike. Treating real people with dignity is more important than a fictional relationship. I think many forget this.
