This kind of supposedly helpful but actually just incredibly patronising & irritating response on twitter is far too common. Women always having to explain themselves to rule out all possible ways a structural flaw can be actually her fault.
I get it a lot on here and it drives me mad. Just the default presumption being that we are stupid & illogical rather than that there is a structural problem. But he’s “just being helpful” so if after the hundredth time this happens you lose your rag, you’re an unreasonable bitch
And to be clear, I’m sure he *does* think he’s being helpful. I’m sure he’s trying to be helpful. The point isn’t that he’s a bad person. The point is that the default assumption of too many men is that Occam’s razor = woman at fault rather than a structural bias against women
