Heavy thuds on the door at 11pm last night, fast asleep in the house, could see the police outside shining torches in the garden. Went down bleary eyed, "We've had reports of ..." oh crikey an intruder? But 3 PCs? Nope. We've had a report you're having illegal parties. Wowsers.

Our Supper Clubs, all outdoors, temp testing, socially distanced, separate tables, single loo use, hand sanitisers, no mixing of tables, track & trace email details, have been reported by a 'disgruntled' caller. We explained that last night's had even been weather postponed as we

wouldn't bring guests indoors, & how they run. The PCs were extremely pleasant & could see we weren't exactly ravers, standing there in our pjs, or like some of the abusive party holders you see in the news. Business not personal parties, there's a difference, they acknowledged.

But my eyes raise at GMP bosses funding 3 officers to attend when they wouldn't in the past allow PCs to investigate an actual burglary, & won't get a grip of the rife drug dealing on the streets to the homeless now moved en mass to hotels in M14, for eg. Priorities though eh.
