Oh dear. Things are not improving for the ABA industry.
This is the Department of Defense 2020 report into ABA for Service personnel's autistic children & young people.

Summarised - they still can't find any evidence that ABA works.

It's one of a series of baffled reports from the US Military departments, each unable to find the alleged evidence of fantastic end results.

They suggest that improvements are simply from the kids getting older.
I sense that one can only pretend something's working for X amount of years, before the reality becomes very obvious...& before there's enough autistic people saying 'This is not OK' in a way that gets listened to. A reminder of that major survey at https://autisticnotweird.com/2018survey/
US Department of Defense report into ABA. Did the children and young people improve after thousands of hours of compliance-enforcement using this outdated technique? No. Awkward, isn't it. I really don't think the US Military is going to lie about this.
Some children somehow improved something. So, for those parents, they might think 'Hey this thing works!' and be angry with the others saying 'Well it didn't work for my child' & with autistic people saying 'This was awful to experience'.
Big data is important. This is big.
