/ I still occasionally read @DailyKos and @DKElections despite having been banned from posting to or commenting on that website. I noticed some DKErs asking about my whereabouts, so here's a thread for those concerned about me. https://www.dailykos.com/comments/1971050/78328133#comment_78328133
/ I'll tag @Benamery21 in this thread, although I'm not 100% certain if he's the same person who posts under the handle 'benamery21' on DKos and DKE.
/ I am the person who posted under the handle DownstateDemocrat on @DailyKos and @DKElections from 2011 to 2019.
/ To this day, I have never been given a formal explanation as to why I was banned from DailyKos, although I had worn out my welcome on DKos long before I was banned.
/ Explanation or no explanation, I decided almost immediately after being banned that I would not apply for reinstatement, since being banned caused me to realize I had worn out my welcome at DailyKos.
/ I was banned from DailyKos right before the year 2020, the worst year of my life so far, started.
/ Around the Christmas holiday in 2019, I noticed that my mom was in quite a bit of discomfort, but I was unsure why until she had what I initially thought was a bad reaction to a breakfast sandwich that she consumed on, if I recall correctly, New Year's Eve of 2019.
/ For the next few days after that, she was in complete agony. On one day (either NYE 2019 or NYD 2020, IIRC), she went to the bathroom approximately 200 times (not an exaggeration) before collapsing in the bathroom at my house and crawling to the living room.
/ My mom lied on the living room floor for about four days or so, unable to move and in extreme pain. She refused an ambulance trip to the hospital until the morning of January 4 of this year, when she finally asked me to call for an ambulance.
/ From January 4 to February 14 of this year, my mom was in and out of hospitals and, at one point, the rehabilitation wing a nursing home.
/ My mom's nursing home experience during late January 2020 and into early February 2020 was the worst experience of her life. She left the nursing home and returned home a day or two after the Super Bowl, only to have to be rehospitalized five hours later.
/ During her initial hospitalization, she underwent three hours and 15 minutes of surgery. During that surgery, it was discovered that a non-cancerous tumor had caused massive inflammation of her colon, pushing against her urethra and preventing passage of a kidney stone.
/ The surgery resulted in my mom having a stoma, which was successfully reversed in another surgical procedure just a few days ago. My mom is still in the hospital recovering from stoma reversal surgery.
/ April 6 of this year was probably the worst year of my life.
/ The morning and early afternoon of April 6 was quite busy for my father and I, as he took me to buy gas and groceries after he had a routine blood test performed on him.
/ While buying gas for him, I forgot to put the gas can in the bed of his pickup truck after filling the gas can. The gas can was stolen by an unidentified person and never recovered, and my dad declined to file a police report.
/ My dad did not berate me as loudly as I would have expected him to after the incident with the gas can.
/ After my dad and I got back home, the last time I saw my dad was when he went outside to mow the yard, and his last words to me was "I've got it in the neck," which was his way of saying that he was having neck pain from sinus infections that plagued him for many years.
/ About an hour after my dad went to mow the yard, my mom complained to me that she had not heard the engine sounds from either of my dad's lawn mowers.
/ I looked out the back door of the house and found nothing unusual. A short time later, I went into the unattached garage and, after initially finding nobody inside, I found my dad lying on the garage floor unconscious and not breathing.
/ A few seconds later, I noticed that one of my dad's teeth had come disloged in his mouth without any bleeding in his mouth, which was the only evidence of trauma. At that point, I knew he was dead, and I called 911 and immediately told the operator that my father was dead.
/ I attempted CPR on my dad despite not having any formal training, and EMTs came and tried to revive him, but he couldn't be revived. Circumstantial evidence indicated to me that he died of sudden cardiac death. He was probably clinically dead before collapsing.
/ In addition to my mom's health problems and my dad's death, I've had health problems as well in 2020.
/ A few months ago, I underwent oral surgery to remove my upper right wisdom tooth that kept getting infected. The oral surgery ended up being a simple tooth extraction, since there wasn't any part of the tooth that had entered my sinus cavity, which I thought had happened.
/ In early 2020, not long before my dad died, I sought treatment for depression. I had suicidal thoughts from circa mid-2019 until I sought treatment for depression. As a matter of fact, I was having suicidal thoughts while writing my last couple of DailyKos diaries.
/ In fact, I had depression-like symptoms since about 2007 or so, when I was still in high school. I wasn't diagnosed with depression until earlier this year, when I sought treatment after I began having suicidal thoughts.
/ Despite no longer being on DailyKos, I am still very active online in a number of different endeavors and on a number of different websites.
/ I write blog posts infrequently at four different blogs, all of which I am the sole author of and have the Apollo Corner branding: Apollo Corner, Apollo Corner Politics, Apollo Corner Sports, an Apollo Corner Writing.
I am still very active on Twitter, tweeting from three Twitter accounts: @ApolCor, @PoliticsAAC, and @AuthorAAC.
/ My personal Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/aaron.camp.7121 . My author Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/AuthorAAC/
/ Last year, I wrote a motorsports fiction novella ebook titled Lady in the Fast Lane. A page containing links to retailers selling my ebook can be found here: https://books2read.com/u/b558NA
/ I am currently writing several books in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry categories, including some political nonfiction works.
/ Before I end this thread of tweets, I will acknowledge that the diary that got me banned from DailyKos did not become true, since Joe Biden, thankfully, picked a Democrat, Kamala Harris, to be his running mate.
/42 I'll end this thread of tweets acknowledging some current and former @DailyKos and @DKElections members and administrators who use Twitter: @markos, @DavidNir, @DavidLJarman, @deoliver47, @Benamery21, @HappyElectNerd, and @JGibsonDem, just to name a few.
