The longer I sit with with, the angrier I am about a group of people, however small, who are so privleged that even sitting in a class and being exposed to views that aren't 110% in line with the harmful oppressive narrative of the institution of the Church feels violent to them.

I can't even begin to imagine the verbal and emotional violence that every *single* BIPOC student has endured at BYU. I genuinely cannot, and I cry out in grief to even try.

So when, however small, a group of people so obsessed with and wrapped up in privlege feels violated by being taught principles at BYU that aren't totally oppressive, and have the unmitigated gall to insist they're following Jesus?

Baptismal covenants ALONE should be why every member, not just professors and students at BYU, should be actively, wholly looking to create spaces of healing and love for the broken and the weary.

"Mourn with those who mourn and comfort those who stand in need of comfort."

That is supposed to be our clarion call to action every single day, day in and day out. Serving and loving the least of these as we would the Savior Himself, and using our privlege when we have to dismantle the systems that deny it to those who don't.

The entitlement and the hate in this movement is everything that convinces me that a church where this kind of intolerance is empowered cannot possibly be the church of my Savior.
