The statements MCU carefully cultivates plots to be milquetoast & of interest to the largest group of demographics just to rake in cash and the DCEU shoves out pointlessly grimdark ass movies to make cishet men feel so smart they jizz in their pants to rake in money.

Also both can be camp as fuck (which isn’t inherently bad! But sometimes it’s the bad sorta camp, yano?)

The issue is more about the making money thing. Movies that don’t have a strong message/purpose can be good (or at least fun). Movies that are grim and explore and criticize society can be good (or at least thought-provoking). Camp movies are good (when done right)

But when all those types of movies are done in a way that’s, at its root, about making the largest possible profit... that’s when they become annoying, and that’s where both the MCU and DCEU have issues

Nd of course there are exceptions for both universes! And both also have their strengths! The point of this thread is stop pretending one is inherently better than the other bc they’re both just capitalistic schemes!

You can like one better than the other! You can dislike one or both of them! That’s absolutely fine. My issue is when fans from either sect act as if they’re in some way superior to the other like shut up

At the end of the day we’re all nerds who hate how our faves are treated and have qualms with the majority of the movies but still stick around to feed on crumbs. Stop fighting over what franchise is better or which character is cooler or I’ll shove u in a locker personally
