1 problem with the US becoming an oligarchy on the federal level is that the same foreign policy advisors to Democratic presidential candidates get recycled, too. For all the bipartisan support for #Taiwan in Congress, these advisors see it as less important & more expendable 2/

A lot of Taiwanese believe (correctly IMO) that the Trump *administration* is the most pro-Taiwan ever. As #TaiwaneseAmericans it's too facile to say Trump himself doesn't care about anything. Instead we have to 2x our efforts to make sure any new admin will support Taiwan too 4/
