Boruto& #39;s community is so toxic. There& #39;s a difference between liking a series and being unable to handle any sort of criticism. I like Boruto too but Naruto& #39;s portrayal has been atrocious, as of late.
It& #39;s as though he lost most of his brain cells and is only good at being a useless punching bag. They& #39;re clearly doing him a disservice but according to some Boruto gurus, Boruto is flawless and they couldn& #39;t give Naruto a better treatment if they tried.
Treating the most iconic and popular character in the franchise like a glorified punching bag not only is a disservice to his character but also a terrible creative decision. It only serves to generate controversy and annoy fans.
I& #39;m sure someone would argue that this is Boruto& #39;s series and that he& #39;s not the protagonist anymore and that& #39;s true but not being the protagonist is no excuse for the author to shit on him. As I said, he& #39;s the most iconic character and is bigger than Boruto manga as a whole.
It& #39;s possible to write secondary characters without shitting on them. To give an example, there& #39;s Roy Mustang from FMA, he& #39;s not the main character yet he& #39;s badass, competent, and smart, everything Boruto Naruto isn& #39;t
If you& #39;re fine with the most important character in the franchise being so useless against the villain that he can& #39;t even land a single hit, let alone give him a good fight then there& #39;s something wrong with you.
It& #39;s entirely possible for a weaker character to look competent against a stronger character. There& #39;s the Kaguya fight in which he was way weaker than Kaguya yet didn& #39;t look like a mentally challenged person who offers no resistance whatsoever.
