guys... butterfly is about loosing someone to suicide - an explanation thread

Butterflies are represantations of life, sometimes even of a persons soul. The line "you’re so beautiful, that I’m scared" in which they compare the beauty of this person to a butterfly, known for it's beauty and fragileness.

The butterflies are known to be delicate and fragile animals that quite frankly break easily. In the song, they are afraid-

to let go of that person. They don't want to let go of that person. Unfortunately, the person has already let them go.
"You’re there but for some reason, I can’t reach you, stop
You, who’s like a dream is a butterfly high to me"
Butterfly high-

is a hallucination that occurs while most often daydreaming. As they say in the lyrics, they can see the person (dreams, hallucinations), but they cannot reach them. They try to make everything better (as seen in Namjoon's rap), but it's too late.

The person (butterfly) is gone. "From afar, I steal glances; if we touch hands, will I lose you?" they lost the person, that was so fragile it broke, just like a "butterfly".
