Phases of time off:

1. Recovery - all you can do is lay on the couch, nap, etc.

2. Picking Up the Pieces - laundry, groceries, unpaid bills, unanswered emails, etc

3. Real Rest - you actually feel good enough to do stuff that you like that makes you feel rested
The problem with working a lot is that you don't often make it past Picking Up the Pieces, and if it's really bad you don't even get past Recovery.

Never making it to Real Rest is probably not healthy long term.
For example, we plan to order food for after my kid goes to bed.

By 8, I’m too tired to eat it and I just go to bed.
