LANDING PAGE 101 (a quick thread):

I've been looking at a few people's sales / offer / marketing / email signup landing pages, and see a couple mistakes being made, that can make your landing pages SO MUCH more successful.

This will only take a few minutes to implement, too...
1. Remove all navigation from your header, NOW!!

Design a new page with a header that ONLY HAS A LOGO.

No site navigation links AT ALL.

The site navigation distracts people, they'll look at the REST OF YOUR SITE, not the sales page.

Keep them on that page.
2. FIX YOUR COPY IMMEDIATELY

Remember, a landing page is for ONE THING ONLY.

To CONVERT the READER.

They didn't come here to READ INFORMATION!!

SELL THEM THE OFFER...

..your copy must literally make them say 'DAMN, I NEED THIS... ...RIGHT NOW.
3. NO SIDE BAR / ADS / FOOTERS

You need to get rid of ALL distractions.

No navigation, footers, other graphics, pop-up ads, absolutely NO side bar with other links and 'recent posts', etc.

You need to have only 2 things on this page...
4. MASSIVE CALL-TO ACTION

They need to know what they MUST DO on this page.

The headline and sales copy made them NEED IT NOW...

...then you need a MASSIVE CALL TO ACTION.

Tell them EXACTLY, what THEY WANT to do, RIGHT NOW!!
5. Make the SIGN UP OBVIOUS, and EASY

Make the form in the MIDDLE of the page, bold, nice, clean, and EASY.

The form filled out is YOUR GOAL.

It needs to be the thing they TRIP OVER if they were blindfolded.

So make it EASY to find, make it STAND OUT on the page...
6. EXIT POP-UP

If for some crazy reason, the reader DOES NOT sign up for your offer, and goes to navigate away...

...reinforce the offer, BEFORE THEY LEAVE YOU!

Don't let them leave without asking them 'if they're sure', or maybe even sweeten the deal a little, offer more.
Remember, if they leave without signing up, your landing page failed.

It's your ONE CHANCE to make the FIRST IMPRESSION.

So, impress them, show them immediately why they NEED IT RIGHT NOW...

...make it easy...

...but don't distract them.

That's it!

That's landing page 101.
