When theatre educators automatically cast the fat students as the “old ladies” or the broad comedic relief, they are subliminally being told that they’re not believable as objects of love & desire & they will often carry that belief with them throughout their careers & lives.

Even given how prevalent body shaming is at the educational level, I was not expecting this kind of reaction. It’s overwhelming.

I have MUCH more to say on this topic & I intend to say it, but for now know I see & love each & every one of you.

Unrelated, but while I have this platform, Police Officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove murdered Breonna Taylor in her sleep on 3/13/2020 & they should be arrested.

Also, since I feel that it’s worth mentioning: I acknowledge that I am a cis white non-disabled person. Any micro-aggressions I’ve encountered were experienced through the lens of that privilege.
