Thread on the Me Too movement from a former Trump supporter.
I very well be the last guy who should talk about this issue. But, I see my friend @Alyssa_Milano getting trolled on a regular basis because they think she's not sticking up to her values. I beg to differ, and here's why.
Being on the other side, I have always defended the innocent until proven guilty cause regardless of the situation. When it comes to racism, murder, rape, you name it. It was a conservative thing to do. Through out my journey which talking to women about the me too movement I
learned it's a key Democratic value to believe women. What I understand what that means, you don't dismiss them. You hear them out, which every woman including Alyssa heard the Tara Reade allegations. As time went by journalists found inconsistencies with her stories.
I know Alyssa has good judgement on these issues and knows Joe Biden very well. Joe Biden himself showed transparency when he said to look back at his records and said, hey if you don't believe him it's OK to not vote for him. That's integrity and accountability.
We all heard the accusations, gave Tara a voice, it just didn't' add up, and unfortunately the me too movement has become weaponized, and it's sad because it hurts survivors in the end. But when it comes to Alyssa, she has always been consistent.
If we say we should believe women survivors, which Alyssa herself is one of them, shouldn't we believe Alyssa?
