Okay, story time, because I feel very strongly about the need to #SaveTheUSPS

When I was diagnosed with MS nearly 2 years ago, my neurologist started me on a medication meant to slow the progression of the disease within my body.
There is no cure for MS, per se, but there are medications that can slow the overactive immune system in my body so that it stops attacking perfectly useful areas of my brain and spinal cord. The medication I was prescribed was meant to do just that.
This is not a medication you can get at a standard pharmacy. When it is prescribed, the doctor contacts the manufacturer directly, who puts the patient in touch with a specialty pharmacy who can mail the pills to you. Through the mail. I was given no alternative.
Ultimately, this particular medication did not work out for me, and I have since switched to an entirely new treatment plan. But for a full year, the progression of my disease was dependent upon me receiving a package every month, before the previous month's pills ran out.
If I missed one of my 2 pills/day, I ran the risk of disruptive side effects, and would likely need to reintroduce the medication to my body slowly to prevent additional side effects. This is not the kind of thing medication one can "ration"- not if you want it to actually work.
Mine is not a unique story. Veterans get medications from the VA via the mail. Anyone with a chronic illness or disability that requires specialty medication is likely in the same boat as I was last year. And now political vendettas are threatening this fragile, vital system
So, PLEASE, spread the word. This isn't the "political question" it's being turned into by the current administration. This is about life or death for people all over this country - people of ALL parties and creeds and classes. Lives depend on this. #SaveTheUSPS
