FanDome...good.
Right off the bat, Patty Jenkins addresses the ongoing theatrical vs PVOD debate: “I really think the movie is so great on the big screen...We’re going to stick it out, and we believe in putting it in the cinema.”
This is so so good (Lynda 😭).

Pedro Pascal bowing. It's so cute.
New Wonder Woman 1984 trailer! https://twitter.com/verge/status/1297224769637691393
Here's the gameplay footage they showed at FanDome just now.
Neil Gaiman: "Due to COVID someone has pressed a giant pause button. So we've taken the pause button to get the scripts as close to perfect. Right now, as the universal pause button is beginning to come off, we've begun to cast again." Neil Gaiman on Netflix's Sandman.
Gaiman: "What we're doing with Netflix is...the point where the story starts, it's not 1988, it's now. What does that make us have to look at that we wouldn't have to look at if it was a period piece? What will that do for the gender of characters? That's been an absolute delight
Walter Hamada says there's absolutely more opportunity for more crossover/multiverse type of events between the films and shows (ie Hamada's world and Greg Berlanti's world). "It's about what the fans want."

Marvel Studios has done it, but is obviously leaning in heavier with D+
Hamada adds that with a multiverse, there can be a bunch of different Batman movies (for example) because they don't have to worry about it "impacting Aquaman 2 or The Flash" because it's not one big universe.
Hamada: "We're not currently developing Red Son."

I didn't realize there was speculation over that? Huh!
Ah! The first mention of HBO Max comes at one hour and 40 minutes into this FanDome event.

"HBO Max can be our clubhouse for the movies and TV shows."

I also think of HBO Max as a clubhouse.
"Time travel isn't simple. It's not always a case of go back in time and change one thing and another thing changes in the future."

Me, still trying to figure out time travel in Avengers: Endgame: "...so true."
"The cinematic universe is going to be born out of this movie [The Flash], it's going to be born out of Barry's story."

No pressure then!
Barry Allen's new suit in Ezra Miller's Flash movie, which was built by his pal Bruce Wayne (but which one!).
Barry, an energetic teen with a mind for science gets a new suit from his billionaire playboy mentor.

Peter, an energetic teen with a mind for science gets a new suit from his billi— you get it. https://twitter.com/loudmouthjulia/status/1296528734678392832
Gunn "on stage" now to talk The Suicide Squad.
"...whose done all the Marvel movies, great movies!!"

Wow. Saying it at a DC event! James Gunn...v brave.
"Greatest cast I've ever worked with."

Chris Pratt looking sadly out his window.
I like The Suicide Squad because I have no idea what's going on but I am all in on James Gunn. https://twitter.com/verge/status/1297254317825687556
Here's your behind-the-scenes footage for The Suicide Squad.
Is this actually Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne?
Me, trying to figure out why I love this version of Pattinson's Batman so much aside from the obvious goth vibes.

My broken brain: "ohhhh, lol. right."
There are a few corny things, but overall FanDome should be considered a lesson in how to host a virtual convention. No tech issues, good pacing, interesting panels sandwiched between quick culture/fandom things that are pretty great for devout fans. Genuine job well done, DC.
PSA: If the main thing you're looking for is the Justice League trailer (and you haven't seen the leaked version already), the panel kicks off in 25 minutes. Which means the trailer should be available again in about 50 minutes.
Is Ana with you, Benjamin?!
And there you go. Four parts, one hour each. Coming in 2021. Trailer -> https://twitter.com/verge/status/1297290854089011201
Snyder: "We are working on plans to get the Cut over to places where HBO Max isn't!"

Jason Kilar, having lunch with his family: "We're doing what now?"
Same vibes, tbqh.

(not the movies, god not the movies, just this one moment)
Sooooooooo siiiiiiick.
JSA! https://twitter.com/Borys_Kit/status/1297299367104151552
The Snyder Cut is the equivalent to a newsletter wherein there's no editor to go "I don't know if it needs to be this long" so you just go haaaaaaam even if it's totally unnecessary.
Harley Quinn is the only one committing to the company synergy by bringing up HBO Max a few times in five minutes. Even Snyder only brought it up once in his panel! Big lack of synergy, fam.
We officially have under an hour and a half left. Shazam kicks off in 10 minutes, then we've got Rocksteady's "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" if that's what it's actually called at 8:10, and we'll end on The Batman at 8:30.
what a perfect human
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is the name of the sequel! Not much else from the six minute panel, but the movie isn't out for another two years so what do you expect!
Game looks siiiiick. https://twitter.com/verge/status/1297328189090549760
Every time I see a video game, I go, "I will not play this game because I do not have the patience to play a video game, but I will watch the hell out of it on Twitch dot com."
🚨 It is time for Sad Boi Hour with Robert Pattinson's The Batman 🚨
MY BEAUTIFUL SAD BOI
I want to be as excited about anything the way Matt Reeves is excited to talk about his Batman movie.
"Rob actually talked to Christian Bale and all Bale said was, 'look man, make sure you find a way to relieve yourself.'"

I love that every big costume conversation comes back to "how do you pee?" A question solved in Iron Man 2, fwiw.
Gotham in The Batman is based on Liverpool, which only adds to the overall aesthetic we've seen and I am all in on it.
I want this to be my entire vibe.
Reeves: "In fact, I loved Ben Affleck as Batman."

Another Batfleck fan. Welcome, Matt.
A SAD GOTH UNSURE OF HIMSELF BRUCE WAYNE?!?!?!

Why yes, The Batman is one of my most anticipated movies. https://twitter.com/verge/status/1297338053082652672
