Doing a small publishing startup was not viable. Most fail. With no funding, I sold a house to start @GarudaPrakashan.

This is why. A civilization will not survive if we can't tell our own stories.

Garuda flies on the wings of your blessings. 🙏 https://twitter.com/GarudaPrakashan/status/1297148284310450177?s=20
There are costs of letting others be gatekeepers. The foreign "big publishers" may publish us sometimes, but they will still be the gatekeepers. In a moment they can throw us out of the master's house.

This is why it is important for us to start & back our own platforms.
I invite all Indic oriented authors and those who are re-considering giving their work to foreign/non-Indic publishers.

Garuda was started for you. We welcome you home. Let us build the new ecosystem together. 🙏

Yes. Garuda got an export license (govt still needs a"license" for export) where we ship worldwide from India. Whatsapp +91-7565-800-228

Great suggestion. More "how you can help" list.

1. Ask your library to stock Garuda books.

2. Consider bulk institutional buying. Buy for your company, college, alma mater. For your children's school. Return gifts. Festival gifts. Visiting relatives. https://twitter.com/vish1108/status/1297222813552504833?s=20
On the "don't do" list.😆 Buy on http://garudabooks.com  except strategically. On Garuda, you get author-signed copies, special bookmarks & deals.

We even beat them on price. And you build the ecosystem, rather than feeding crocodiles of a foreign river. https://twitter.com/om_namah_shiv/status/1297344022801874944?s=20
