The beginning of a new season marks the opportunity for the emergence of new stars across Europe: some build upon a strong previous campaign while others suddenly burst onto the scene out of nowhere.

Here are 14 players we suggest you keep an eye out for this year:

Bastoni is quietly becoming an essential piece of Inter’s backline. Conte has shown faith in the 21-year-old, who has a maturity to his game far beyond his years. Quality left-sided CB's are hard to come by, and Bastoni has the makings to become one of the world’s best.
Jules Koundé has more than lived up to his £22.5m price tag since his move from Bordeaux to Sevilla last summer. It was evident in their Europa League showdown with Manchester United last week (if you didn’t already know), that Koundé is the real deal.
Youcef Atal’s development has unfortunately stalled this year due to a number of serious injuries, but during the previous season, he was one of the best RB's in Ligue 1.
If he can find that form again, expect Atal to earn a big move soon, with clubs like PSG lurking.
Cucurella, in a nutshell, highlights the flaws of Barcelona’s business in the last half decade. Seemingly an ideal replacement (or at least cover) for the aging Jordi Alba, Cucurella leaves the Blaugrana for a Getafe side that he helped concede fewer goals than Barca in La Liga.
Perhaps the least talked about of Lyon’s midfield triumvirate, Caqueret is arguably the brightest starlet emerging from Lyon's prestigious academy. A pressing machine and passing wizard, the little Frenchman plays way beyond his years.
The young Ramdeuter or “space-interpreter” floats around Gladbach’s middle-third with incredible effectiveness. You might recognize him from an effort that won him goal of the month in January, but soon you’ll come to know him as one of the top midfielders in the Bundesliga.
Chelsea will have been watching Pasalic this season knowing that they missed out on yet another top talent in the Croatian. He is a key cog in Atalanta’s mouth-wateringly prolific setup and has developed all phases of his game to become a complete and well-rounded midfielder.
After an impressive season at Parma, Kulusevski will now get the chance to step up and prove himself at Juventus this year. The young Swede is a seriously powerful dribbler that has the ability to change any game in an instant with his physical prowess.
Ocampos emerged as one of the key pieces of Sevilla’s attack this season. Providing width and a true counter-attacking outlet, the Argentine adds a different dimension to a mostly possession-based style. He has attracted attention from across Europe, with Everton linked.
Somewhat of a late bloomer, 26-year-old Rodrigo de Paul has put together two very productive seasons in a row for Udinese. The Argentine deserves Champions League football and will be looking for a move as he enters the prime of his career.
Possibly the player with the highest ceiling on this thread, Unai Emery requested the loan signing of Kubo to add to the list of talent that he is building at Villarreal. Sensational dribbling in tight spaces, body control, and chance creation have clubs across Europe drooling.
We’ve had our eye on Correa since he left Sevilla, and apparently Klopp has as well. The German has considered bringing him to Anfield after missing out on Werner. Correa is coming off of the most productive season of his career and can operate effectively across the front three.
Rashica is penned as a potential Werner replacement at Leipzig, and this comes as no surprise after a breakout season in which “the Rocket” truly took flight. Rashica will surely be on the move after almost single handedly keeping Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga last season.
After being cast aside by Leipzig, Cunha has exploded onto the scene with Hertha with 7 goal involvements in 11 appearances. We expect this trend to continue next season, and wouldn’t be surprised if he fits in alongside Firmino and Jesus in Brazil’s setup in the future.
