1. Israeli war crimes, a thread:

Six years ago, Israel halted its 7-week aerial bombardment and ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.

2,200 Palestinians were killed
70% of them were civilians
25% of them were children
1000 kids were left permanently disabled

2. Israel targeted residential buildings on purpose.

This is a war crime.

The UN estimates 178,000 homes were damaged or destroyed and 100,000 Palestinians left homeless.

Israel then barred construction materials going into Gaza to prevent rebuilding, leaving people in rubble.

3. Israel bombed several UN sites providing shelter for Palestinians, shelling 118 UNRWA facilities, of them, 10 health centres and 83 schools.

10 UN personnel and 44 civilians were killed. Israel has a history of killing UN peacekeepers, like the UNIFIL mission in 2006 & 2015.

4. A total of seventeen journalists were killed by israeli occupation forces despite wearing clear PRESS markings, two of them from the Associated Press. Israel also shelled Al-Jazeera's offices.

Israel purposely and regularly targets journalists for exposing their war crimes.

5. Right now, israel has been bombing Gaza for the last ten days in a row.

Israel has banned fuel imports, leaving everyone without electricity and tightened its naval blockade, completely closing the fishing zone.

This collective punishment is inhumane

6. Many banks profit from these war crimes.

@HSBC invest and provide services to companies like Raytheon, BAE Systems, Caterpillar, who sell weapons & bulldozers used to destroy Palestinian homes.

All institutions have a moral duty to end their complicity now. #StopArmingIsrael

7. Israel has never been held accountable for 2014. It continues to kill Palestinians, violate their human rights – and conveniently is never subject to sanctions or an arms embargo.

Thus, the institutions complicit in this genocide must be pressured to #StopArmingIsrael
