● From 200 to 700 followers
● 235.000 impressions
● 424 RTs

All with just one Twitter thread.

There's no magical button to go viral, but I took a couple of calculated decisions that made the chances of virality higher.

Wanna see the breakdown?👇
1/ The importance of the first tweet.

Let's break it down.

*Format stolen from @GoodMarketingHQ
2/ Topic: use a PAIN point

I kinda know my audience's struggles around social and content and I knew this is something that they would be drawn to

I chose one very specific pain: style/format

Everybody wants their tweets to be seen, and the thread just helps on how to do that
3/ Format

As I said, format is queen.

Every tweet has the same composition

● A title to let you know what it is about
● 2 - 3 lines to add value
● All separated by spaces making it readable
4/ Branding

My personal branding has a visual edge: every graphic I make has the same color palette.

I could've just shared the screenshots as they were...

...Instead, I purposely added them with a background with my "brand" color.

This associates the content with my brand.
5/ Add examples

Show, don't tell.

I added examples of every type of "tweet format" that was mentioned.

But not from anybody.

I tagged 5 influencers that I know are very active on social hoping they would interact.

2/5 did, which helps with content distribution.
6/ Luck

Luck is always a factor on virality.

But luck only favors those who show up every day.

I've been tweeting EVERY DAY for the past 4 months, failing most of the times.

Shoot everyday, and once in a while, you will hit the target.
7/ Bonus: quick recap

● Strategize first, publish second
● Write about a pain, something inspiring or actionable.
● Start with a punchline
● Add branded visuals
● Optimize picture sizes for twitter
● Get lucky
