Lori Loughlin gets two months in jail.

There’s a man caged in Prince George’s County, MD jail who pled 6 months ago to petty theft & *still hasn’t gotten his sentencing hearing.*

More from people jailed pretrial longer than she’ll serve post-conviction: http://GaspingForJustice.org
Lori Loughlin sentenced to 2 months.

I represented a man jailed pre-trial for 2 years on Rikers for low level drug sales to support his own drug habit.
I'm not upset Lori Loughlin was sentenced to “only” 2 months. Every moment caged in American prisons is horrific. As always, I'm upset that people who aren't rich, white, & connected (nearly everyone of millions currently caged) aren't treated with the same relative leniency.
I’ll be back later with more comparisons.
Lori Loughlin sentenced to 2 months.

There are currently thousands in NY prisons serving far longer time solely because of technical (non-criminal) parole violations like failure to update an address or drinking a beer.

Cuomo was unwilling to help *even them* avoid COVID.
Lori Louglin sentenced to 2 months prison.

This father I represented missed his son’s first steps & had to see him walk for the first time while in criminal court, back shackled, all for failure to update his address on parole. He was jailed for 3 months. https://twitter.com/scotthech/status/1169439275227734016?s=21 https://twitter.com/scotthech/status/1169439275227734016
Lori Louglin sentenced to 2 months.

I represented a man jailed *pre-trial* for 9 months for stealing some cigarettes & Red Bull’s from a bodega late at night.

Eventually required to do years of onerous drug treatment. Ultimately failed & was sent upstate for up to 3 years.
Lori Louglin sentenced to 2 months.

People I represented in Brooklyn caged pretrial routinely had their cases adjourned for 2 months between each court appearance just to wait on the prosecution to make copies of evidence that should and could’ve been turned over day of arrest.
Back later with more comparisons. To reiterate, I am not arguing for greater harshness for Lori Loughlin. I don't think she should spend a day in prison. I want less prison, less harshness for all.
