So, @chickenprincess & @orbette (and to an extent @magentakoru) have forced me to watch Schitt's Creek with the condition that I have to watch SIX EPISODES before dismissing it. Here's how it's gone so far.
#WombieWatchesSchitt
1: I don't get why should I care about these people? They're HORRIBLE. As is the town mayor. Is it meant as a comedy? Honestly, I don't know. I didn't laugh once. Best moment was the episode ending after 20m when I was expecting 40m. #WombieWatchesSchitt
2. Totally grossed out by brown stuff dripping on people in bed, presumably an in-your-face metaphor for the show's title. Also the fingers in the cheese, EW. I get cringe-comedy, but this isn't that. This is just cringe. I did smirk at Moira's triple slap. #WombieWatchesSchitt
3. The town sign was well painted, unlike anything else in this episode, a mix of annoying & boring. Moira drunkenly yelling at children was horrible. I hope these people develop endearing or forgivable qualities soon, or that I laugh. Either will do. #WombieWatchesSchitt
4. Well, that was a little better. Finally the characters acquire some depth. Shallow depth, but still. David's interactions with Stevie, & Alexis sharing a moment with Mutt (?) were both amusing. For the first time I didn't absolutely hate them. #WombieWatchesSchitt
Episode 5 of #WombieWatchesSchitt tomorrow...
5. Have to admit I'm getting into Schitt a bit more. The Rose parents' shag-trip was MEH like a tedious 70s sitcom, but the kids' party was beautifully done. David & Stevie work so well together. At this rate I'll be proving @chickenprincess
& @orbette right

6. Bingo Lingfucker! OMG, that was great. The phone, David nodding off at yoga, the winery, & that last shot had me *helpless* with laughter for ages. Loved it. Every character was spot on, even tiny roles like the vet. I seem to be joining the Schitty gang.

7. Schitt's Creek is coming together now, as the Rose family begins to loosen up. Jocelyn’s little speech to Moira about relaxing & letting the townspeople help is perfectly pitched. Lovely subtle acting in places, too. And how cute does Stevie look in camo?

8. A holding episode. It was, while not bad, no better than meh. The most amusing bit of business was David's unintentional fake tan. The Johnny/Roland plotline just ended up underlining what an annoying wanker Johnny still is. Looking for improvement next ep

8a I doubt anyone is still reading this thread, but I'm going to continue anyway, if only to satisfy the completist in me. You know, that boy who had to collect every bubble-gum card of a set, and every issue of Metal Men.

9. And improve it did. Marvellous. Perhaps the best episode yet - Stevie & David getting absolutely baked full of giggles, Johnny's face hearing the details of Carl's death, Moira singing Danny Boy, dog nappies. Hilarious and perfect. Adored it.

It's #WombieWatchesSchitt time. Back in half an hour or so after episode 10.
10. A new high for Schitt's Creek, the two dinner parties juxtaposing beautifully. David (cementing his place as my favourite character) & Stevie are wall-to-wall adorable in this, and their wine metaphor scene was pitched perfectly. Love Moira's named wigs.
#WombieWatchesSchitt
11 & 12. I BINGED. I love David a little bit now. 'Little Sister' wasn't as funny as last episode, but extended the emotional connections. Mini-David was fun. 'Surprise Party' set me giggling again: what WAS Twyla's drink? Loved the Roses romanticky dance.

13 (S1 Finale). Heartbreaking. David’s underlying loneliness finally erupts & when no-one will come with him to New York he rabbits. I sniffled. There were laughs too - Moira & Johnny trying to get a dying man's signature was hilarious (what? IT WAS!)
