I've enrolled in MAID, seeing as I can no longer afford to live, nor can I afford the food & medicine I need to get better. @fordnation is killing me slowly, but not just me, which is why I had to wait over an hour the first time I called. @OntHumanRights #ODSP #ODSPoverty
When you call, they will try to say that you need to be in a terminal state, or close to death. All you need to do is to remind them that on their website, due to the newly relaxed terminology of @fordnation, that is no longer true.
Once I got past that little hurdle, it was smooth sailing. They're super friendly & accommodating. You even have the choice of having assisted suicide at home or in a facility. Fast service too-only a 10 wait period after final approval. If only raising rates was just as fast.
You can also change your mind too-for those who were wondering. Enrolling doesn't mean you have to go through with it. You can change your mind at any time-no repercussions, no questions asked apparently-even as they are putting the drugs into your IV you can change your mind.
This is the state of things for people on #ODSP. I thought I would ring right through, that this number would rarely be called, but I had to wait over an hour the first time I called. Apparently, they've been very busy. @OntHumanRights @ONSocialService @fordnation @CanadianPM
Unfortunately I won't be changing my mind because the simple mathematical fact is that I can no longer afford to live. @CanadianPM declared everyone needs $2,000/mo to exist. $800 doesn't cut it-esp. in a pandemic. Although it will be assisted suicide, it's actually murder. #ODSP
I realized I put this info in another thread/reply so am inclu the MAID number here: 1-866-286-4023 [Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm] for those who do not want to access assisted suicide through their doctors for whatever reason. They will provide you with all the healthcare providers you need.
You can follow @alysm745.
