Louis Pasteur was a devout Catholic his entire life. I have studied his life for Uni a particularly good book is Louis Pasteur his life and labours (which is now out of print)

He came from a poor family, suffered a stroke at an early age paralyzing half his body and...
Suffered the loss of 3 of his children all of whom were toddlers.

All this happens before his groundbreaking discoveries. He kept his faith the entire time.

Pasteur founded stereochemistry, disproved the theory of spontaneous generation (to the great annoyance of Darwinites)..
And he developed the modern vaccine. Louis Pasteur’s vaccine method enabled vaccines to be mass produced and widely available for a range of disease. Saving millions.

Pasteur received a state funeral and was buried in Notre Dame. His remains were later moved to a chapel...
in the Pasteur institute.
“Having suffered a stroke, Pasteur died holding his rosary, while having the life of St. Vincent de Paul read to him, because he hoped that his work, like St. Vincent’s, would save suffering children“
