What are the best ways to making a safer California from wildfires for decades to come? What I've heard so far:
-Massively upzone urban core so evacuees who want to permanently settle in the places where they land can do so
(1/4)
-Transition to a more distributed electric grid to reduce transmission lines
-Rip out eucalyptus and other non-native species from the fire zones🌄
-Start doing small prescribed fires đŸ”„
-Lots and lots more goats 🐐
-Pass prop 15 so we can better fund CalFire
(2/4)
-Vote for politicians who prioritize stopping climate change and hold them accountable
-Drastically improve farm worker housing and access to clean air centers
-Universal Basic Income & unions so people don't have to put themselves at risk for work if they don't want to
(3/4)
-Subsidized air purifiers for every home, include it in building codes
-Lots more public education about mask and air safety (I'm still seeing lots of people outside without masks)
-Encouraging strategic logging where critical

What else should be added to the list? (4/4)
Gonna add a "so stupid it just might work" idea here: gigantic lightning rods in rural areas so lightning strikes them and goes to ground rather than striking dry grass and catching fire.
Thank you all for your ideas! Let's make them happen. Register to vote https://vote.gov/  and call your local representative to tell them how you want them to fix things https://openstates.org/find_your_legislator/
