My dad's now watching action Tamil / Cantonese movies, historical period Chinese movies / Korean dramas and medical Japanese dramas - depending on what's airing.
He's being truly Asian, lol.
Today, it's a family feud drama in Thai, LOL.
He's covering Asian region slowly, lol.
Btw, when I wrote "Chinese", it always means in their "standard" Chinese language = Mandarin.
To add to this thread, lol.
I just remembered that my dad WAS watching an Indonesian drama series, too, at one point, lol.
Interesting coz the drama was about a mischievous teenaged prince who got sent to a village school to learn humility but he's also the grandson of a powerful
warlock King who travelled multidimensionally and was always under attack and so, as the grandson he learned to travel too and his HS sometimes integrate with him to help his 3D during fights, etc.
I was thinking how funny that my dad's watching that, lol, coz his daughter's
doing stuffs like that multidimensionally - except for the real life fights in 3D, it's not physical fights, mostly verbal against l*ghtwork*rs, lol.

So, anyway, my dad is really covering a lot of the Asian languages and cultures, lol.
I kinda started watching the medical J-drama with him, he watches only when he's in the mood so I'll watch along most of the time...
I haven't watched a J-drama for years so I've forgotten what the sounds were like and to my surprise, there were some similar words to Korean...
So, I'm thinking, maybe I should do cross-reference a little between Korean and Japanese so that if I ever feel like learning Japanese, it'll be easier coz I'd have some vocabulary.
We shall see...
