I’m on a mission to find out how #Yorkshire tourism is handling reopening in the midst of COVID. I’m still uber-cautious about the whole thing, but I do want to support Yorkshire attractions. Check the blog >>> https://www.bewildereddad.com/yorkshire-tourism/ and read this THREAD 👇👇👇 /1
The brilliant @nymr North Yorkshire Moors Railway #gifted us tickets for the round trip between #Pickering and #Levisham. /2
👍 Great one-way system
👍 Helpful staff
👍 Plenty of hand sanitiser
👍 Very clean
👍 Staggered seating for social distancing

Good work @nymr /3
Have you been on the @nymr since lockdown? What did you think? /4
We’re BIG fans of Saltburn, so we wanted to head there for a day. Here’s what happened @saltburnbysea /5
👍Plenty of space on the beach
👍Toilets open (if a little tricky to avoid others)
👍Valley Gardens great for social distancing
👍Ace chips

Have you been to the #Yorkshire coast since lockdown eased? What was it like where you went? /6
Another happy customer 🏖🏖🏖 /7 https://twitter.com/RAHollingworth/status/1296380064314150913
But this is a good point... 😬😬😬 /8 https://twitter.com/RAHollingworth/status/1296381986844684289
Fairburn Ings @RSPBAireValley near #Castleford was an early post-lockdown-easing adventure. Better known for birds 🦢but also the home of a crocodile 🐊 sighting. /10
It made the news and it’s the first thing that comes up on Google when you type “Fairburn Ings” 👀

We didn’t see it though 😦 /11
👍Wide open spaces
👍Good one way system
👍Plenty to look at

👎 No croc 🐊

Not a bad return for Fairburn Ings @RSPBAireValley all the same /12
Otley Chevin is a brilliantly socially distanced trip out. It features woodland 🌲🌲🌲to explore and views across the Wharfe Valley that take your breath away 😍 @visitotley @OtleyBID /13
👍No overcrowding
👍So much space to explore
👍Plenty to entertain kids and dog
👍Free of charge

#OtleyChevin is more than a bit special /14
Have you visited any free #Yorkshire attractions since lockdown eased? Tell me about them! 📲 /15
I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I last went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park @YSPsculpture. We visited recently and this is what happened /16 >>>
You book an arrival time in advance so there’s no overcrowding and you don’t need to touch the car park ticket machines, they scan your ticket with a phone on a selfie stick (clever🧠) and there are 500 acres to explore! Read more >>> https://www.bewildereddad.com/yorkshire-tourism/

/17
👍Brilliant contact-free system
👍So much space to distance
👍Plenty of sanitiser stations
👍Great signage

👎Sheep poo 🐑 (probably can’t blame @YSPsculpture for that). /18
On a tangent...the park is part of the Yorkshire Sculpture Triangle. Which has four points. Because Yorkshire triangles are better than everyone else’s. Fact /19
I’d love to know about the systems in place that you have seen since lockdown eased. We’ve picked well. I’m more hesitant than many in terms of crowds etc, but I do want to support #Yorkshire tourism so we will keep exploring! BLOG > https://www.bewildereddad.com/yorkshire-tourism/ /20
