Been thinking of binging some short manga under 20 chapters today, so here’s a thread of every one I’ve read today and my thoughts on them.
Play It Cool, Guys - 12 Chapters

I don't really read stuff like this but I surprisingly really enjoyed it. Definitely lightened up my day, and made me more aware of the subtleties of life that are overlooked.
Kami no Kodomo - 11 Chapters

A super short series that definitely nailed the horror aspect, both through its eerie artstyle and narration, which gave me a lot of chills. It's not anything beyond that, though.
The Gods Lie - 5 Chapters

Surprisingly for a short series like this I was really immersed into the story. The art is really fucking nice and adds to the whole tone of the story - melancholic? Wholesome? I don't even know. Just read this.
Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan - 8 Chapters

This one is just so fucking good man. The amount of things you can get out of these mere 8 chapters is crazy. I don't think I've ever cried to a series this short, but it was such a good read, makes you think a lot.
I Sold My Lifespan for 10,000 Yen A Year - 18 Chapters

This is a popular one but yeah it's really good. I think everyone should read it.
Kimi Ga Futte Kita Hi - 3 Chapters

This one is literally 15 pages in total. As such it doesn't have much substance, but it is a pretty nice wholesome experience.
Magus of the Library - 14 Chapters

Added this here for agenda pushing purposes. Everything about this series is just so fucking good man. Excellent cast, worldbuilding (especially), art and story.
My Capricorn Friend - 7 Chapters

Another great short story with really nice art. The plot "twist' at the end was somewhat predictable, but that didn't take away from the story in any way.
My Broken Mariko - 5 Chapters

Stylistically stunning, with an extremely tragic story, speckled with some wholesome and lighthearted moments. Enjoyed the melancholic atmosphere a lot.
Memories of Emanon - 7 Chapters

One of the best atmospheric experiences I’ve ever had. For a short read like this, I was able to immerse myself into the story’s ideas about existence. It contrasts perfectly with the playful and innocent notions of curiosity.
Hisakata no Oto - 11 Chapters

Might be my favorite one so far. Definitely read this if you like Barakamon; it has a similar premise but with a bit of fantasy and lore that makes it all the more interesting. Tons of heartwarming and memorable moments.
Boys Run The Riot - 2 Chapters

A super promising start for a unique and fun series. Haven’t seen much from the story so far but the main 2 are really fucking cool. Though I can’t comment on how relatable it is, the mangaka’s message on LGBTQ+ is really dope.
Go With The Clouds, North By Northwest - 11 Chapters

Though the plot hasn't really developed yet, the atmosphere in this manga are absolutely incredible. In these 11 short chapters I was able to completely immerse myself into Kei's odd jobs. I mean, it's by Aki Irie.
