Shot in the dark: do I have any fellow formerly incarcerated firefighters in Santa Clara County or nearby who’d be willing to head into the #CZULightningComplex? Thinking of putting a crew together - likely brush abatement around threatened homes.

Small patch of cell service. Joined up with locals for defense of a homestead in Bonny Doon. The sky glows orange. Fire is creeping up from beyond a nearby ridge - bit of a lull as we wait for it. Generators are pumping from a well, so we’ve got water pressure for the hoses.
Just want to add that I am in awe of the community up here. Locals come in and out of the property with reports of the fire - trying to strategize whose home needs protection - who needs to get checked on. Most here haven’t slept in days.

We successfully defended the Lavender Farm on Martin Rd. Winds kicked up & the fire ripped through a few hours ago.
Dogs at the canine training facility in Bonny Doon (near Comstock) survived the first couple nights of the fire, despite the area around them being scorched. Folks went to feed them yesterday & it appears they’ve been rescued. #CZULightingComplex #BonnyDoon
And reports are that the nearby Baha’i facility has sustained significant damage to most of its structures. Cannot provide more specific info than that. #CZULightingComplex #BonnyDoon
