Fall classes at @UTAustin start in about a week. Here’s a look at what campus looks like during the COVID-19 pandemic:
On the exterior of buildings, @UTAustin has posted signs asking people to social distance, wear face masks, and stay home if they’re sick.
In the lecture halls I saw, about 2/3rds of chairs were zip tied to make space for students to social distance.

@UTAustin has also put up signs asking people not to move or sit in certain seats in the campus seating areas.
In the SAC and Texas Union, campus restaurants have shields between the cashiers and spots for people to stand 6 ft apart.
Capacity and occupancy limits are posted outside of bathrooms and elevators around campus at @UTAustin.
Outside seating at @UTAustin has also been dramatically reduced.

Most tables only have one chair, and seats are marked with a green dot that says “Use.”
There are various signs inside @UTAustin buildings telling people which doors to enter/exit, which stairwells to go up and down, and where to stand in line.

UT’s flagship library also has a sign saying how many people will be allowed in out of 400.
But honestly, what shocked me the most was how little the exterior of campus has changed.

If you didn’t come near the doorways or walk inside a building, it would be hard to notice much change at all.
