has a degree in this sht, I can tell you that having a healthy outlet to help you cope is generally recommended. Some people use hiking, some use writing, some use painting and some use music, and some use some, some use all. It’s very normal and not toxic in the slightest.
Music can be extremely therapeutic, for just relaxing and unwinding, that’s why it’s played for the sick, why singers visit nursing homes, it’s used for people who have mental illnesses, and even for fussy babies! There’s nothing toxic about using music as comfort.
BTS use music to speak to us. Not as an idol to fan level but as human to human which is what many artists do. Making a connection on a human level through art, and that connection can be very comforting. It’s something that’s been done for centuries. It’s not anything new.
BTS isn’t there to solve all problems or cure depression and they have never claimed to, they want to help comfort, help make the world a little happier. They can and do. They are a comfort not a cure and I think anyone with a brain enough to fill a thimble could know that.
I know its a lot to make a whole ass thread but I wanted to bring comfort to those who were hurt by such careless words. Your coping is normal. Using music to cope is normal. Using music as comfort is normal. It’s so normal and so valid.
