for everyone asking me-
@AudiusProject basically rebranded copyright infringement IMO

i have evidence that suggests they cherry pick who gets fake plays.

a platform that brands themselves as anti-takedown
apparently stealing is “pro artist” now

here is a THREAD of my research
you can stream or upload any song for free
for ex. here is a page of @deadmau5 albums.
he has no way of monetizing or removing these unauthorized uploads. *in its current form*
https://audius.co/deadmau54321
this is illegal
and can happen to ANY ARTIST
additionally, i tested out how “decentralized” it was by botting random songs.
the shit posts had their plays removed, but the verified artists got to keep their botted plays. (i botted @OfficialRezz @zedsdead @mrcarmack @LouisTheChild @Lido ) GREAT artists btw^
here is ONE of the playlists i botted. had 13k+ fake plays at the time i screened. (about 1k on each song at the end)
here is a link to it now- https://audius.co/badxyou/playlist/wack-shit-2182
as you can see, they removed a majority of the plays, as these are parodies & shit posts
here is the playlist of verified artists. (before and after i botted them)
i put 1k fake plays on each song... and they are still there! here’s the link!
https://audius.co/sachavibe/playlist/life-of-peder-part-two--3587
also, i suspect that @ForrestBrowning (co-founder) knew what i was doing, as he favorited the playlists i was botting, and then continued letting the botted plays rack up. (except for the shit posts)
he might’ve just had a bot favoriting playlists for him.... lol
these artists are not responsible for botting plays. (me & @AndyGruhin are lol)
but could they be letting it slide because more plays make their platform look better?
i understand they have plans to create an extremely efficient payment system that gives more power to artists!
THIS IS A GREAT THING!!
but it does not exist right now, and it still doesn’t give artists the ability to remove unauthorized use of their music. copyright law IS GOOD
speculating a little here - but this could lead to a vast library of unauthorized music, with 0 artists getting paid.
if its actually decentralized, this could become a PERMANENT NAPSTER because the gov wouldn’t be able to step in and shut it down
imagine a timeline where there are hundreds of thousands of people hosting a massive music library that anybody can stream for free & no artist gets a say in whether or not their song is included. OR how much they get paid.
not sure if this future is likely, as the node hosters would need a reason to keep hosting, (like a payment system)

simply committing copyright fraud daily prob isn’t enough reason to keep doing it. (or is it?🤔)
i am the first to criticize @SoundCloud & other streaming platforms for horrible per stream payments & inefficient payout systems. there IS a solution, and Audius has GREAT potential to be the answer.
but.. it could also be the next chapter of the music industry’s demise
imo
i HOPE audius stops blocking its criticizers, (lovely people like @danideahl ) and starts listening.

i HOPE they fix these dangerous issues, and gives us the prosperous future full of instant fat crypto checks they describe in their white paper 💕
